QUEENS, N.Y. — The Coalition for Just and Compassionate Compensation (CJCC) today kicked off a Labor Day visibility campaign at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center during the US Open and at Citi Field, spotlighting how major insurers—particularly Chubb, a US Open sponsor—have prolonged justice for survivors of childhood sexual abuse in New York. The campaign’s message, “It’s just a game to them… Survivors: Waiting 7 US Opens,” appears on and geofenced digital ads throughout Flushing Meadows–Corona Park and the Mets–Willets Point transit approaches. Creative directs New Yorkers to call the Governor’s office at 518-474-8390and demand immediate action to compel insurer action.“Seven summers, seven US Opens—and still no compensation for thousands of survivors,” said Steve Jimenez, survivor and CJCC trustee. “Chubb and other big carriers have fought in court, slow-rolled claims, and used endless coverage disputes while survivors wait. If Chubb can sponsor one of the world’s premier sporting events, it can certainly do right by New Yorkers.”“This isn’t complicated,” said David Catalfamo, spokesperson for CJCC. “Governor Hochul and the Department of Financial Services must follow the law and make clear that delay is not a strategy. We are calling on Chubb and its CEO Evan Greenbergto publicly commit to a fair, prompt payout framework for CVA claims—no more games.”
