CHUBB BACKS BOND FOR TRUMP IN E. JEAN CARROLL CASE

NEW YORK, NY (March 8) – In a stunningly hypocritical move, CHUBB insurance helped pick up the tab for former President Donald Trump’s $91.6 million dollar sexual assault judgement in the E. Jean Carroll case, but continues to block payment for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

In response to the news, the Coalition for Just and Compassionate Compensation (“CJCC”) – an independent alliance of survivors of child sexual abuse, their representatives, and advocates seeking full restitution for child sexual abuse survivors – issued the below statement:

“CHUBB has made clear its priorities: survivors of childhood sexual abuse be damned, but Donald Trump: we have your back – the hypocrisy is stunning,” said David Catalfamo, Executive Director of the CJCC. “CHUBB CEO Evan Greenberg and the CHUBB board have made their values perfectly clear – they support their friends in high places, while leaving child sex abuse survivors to suffer. It’s time for Albany to finally investigate CHUBB’s practices and refusal to comply with the Child Victims Act. Survivors are counting on it.”
